Directions to Hill Lodge


By Car:


Postcode for a sat nav is: BH16 6AQ - (Do use this and not the street name! There are two Old Wareham Roads in Poole!)


From London/M3 & North/Midlands/A35: At the end of the M3, join the M27, travelling West. Continue onto the A31 through the New Forest towards Ringwood. At Ringwood, stay on the A31 and follow the signs towards Dorchester. The road will become a single carriageway as it by-passes the towns of Ferndown and Wimborne. Continue past the Colehill roundabout junction and at the next roundabout (Merley) turn right, continuing on the A31 towards Dorchester. At the next roundabout, turn left onto Wimborne Road, towards Corfe Mullen. Keep going straight, pass through Corfe Mullen, onto Old Wareham Road. Hill Lodge is situated, about 50m before the traffic lights at the junction with the A350, Blandford Road. Start indicating left as you come over the brow of the hill. It's easy to miss the end of the drive! It is after the fourth house on the left. Turn in just, after our sign, before the white house set near the road. Hill Lodge is set off the road on the hill, at the end of the drive.


From the West/Dorchester: There are multiple routes to reach Dorset dependent on where you are coming from. If you head to Dorchester and then from there follow the A31 heading East. Continue until you reach the roundabout junction with the A350, Blandord Road. Take the third exit onto the A350 towards Poole. Continue about 4 miles until you come to a set of traffic lights. Here turn left. Start indicating right immediately.  It's easy to miss the end of the drive! Turn in just after the white house set near the road. You should see our house sign. Hill Lodge is set off the road on the hill, at the end of the drive.


From Bristol/Wales: Head towards Warminster and Shaftesbury. Follow the A350 south to Blandford. From Blandford take the A350 south towards Poole, crossing over the roundabout junction with the A31.  Continue about  another 4 miles until you come to a set of traffic lights. Here turn left. Start indicating right immediately.  It's easy to miss the end of the drive! Turn in just after the white house set near the road. Hill Lodge is set off the road on the hill, at the end of the drive.


By Train


South West Trains offer a direct line service to Poole from London Waterloo and all trains are accessible. The trains can be accessed via a ramp and their is assistance at the station to help with this. The guard on the train will then phone ahead to Poole to arrange assistance to disembark. The journey takes around 2 hours and the train station is 5mins from Hill Lodge. Accessible taxis are available or we would be willing to pick you up from the station.


By Coach


There is also the National Express Coach service that travels from London Victoria Coach station as well as Heathrow or Gatwick airports. They have accessible coaches but assistance needs to be booked in advance. The journey is longer from central London, being over 3 hours but the bus station is again only 5 mins from Hill Lodge.
